i've realised that there's a really smart guy living with me, under the same roof. and he's none other than my nephew. he's really smart. and i'm not boasting. he plays with palm tops or what some people call PDA (those kind of mini computers that you can bring out with you..not a laptop of course. much smaller) instead of toys that kids his age play. oh by the way he's 2 years 5 months old. and not only does he know how to play with it..in the sense that he just fool around with it..he knows where EXACTLY he can get what he wants. example, there's a game in the PDA named "Jawbreaker". it's about putting three balls of the same colour together and making them disappear. yeah. that's how the game is played. he knows where to find the game, and even complete it! he understands how the game works with nobody explaining to him how to.
and he knows how to use terms. correct terms at the correct time. example, when it starts to rain, he will say "rain rain outside." when asked outside where he will answer "outside window." he knows what's inside what's outside ; what's on top what's below. furthermore he knows that Apple starts with and 'A' and Ball starts with 'B'. he practically knows all the letters in the alphabet. and of course, he knows examples of that letter. well isn't that amazing?
oh and he knows how to pick the shirt or shorts he wants to wear at home. he chooses them and doesn't allow others to choose for him. he kbows the right time to say the right thing. he knows that he has to say thank you or
xiexie when someone has helped him. just now, while we went downstairs to get our dinner, i realized something else. as it was after a rain, the floors at the void deck was slippery. therefore, my elder sister and younger sister held him, one on each side. once, he almost slipped and fell. it was fortunate that he was held on tightly on both sides. after he was stabilized, he told my elder sister "lucky..ReyRey lucky" and he smiled. oh his name is Reyes. he calls himself ReyRey. it was interesting. he actually knew that he was LUCKY and actually applied that word.
i'm fascinated by the smartness in him. he picks things up at a really fast speed with not much explanation. although he can be quite naughty at times, he will be talented if trained well. i hope he would be able to become someone of good use that can help the Society.
